Program SAGF 2016
Workshop: X-chromosomal markers and FamLinkX
Date and venue: Nov 23-24 2016, Buenos Aires, Argentina
Teachers: Thore Egeland NMBU , Leonor Gusmão,
Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro
Course organiser: Andrea Colussi, SAGF 2016
Final version Nov 29 2016, Thore Egeland
Contents and practical information
- The workshop provides the necessary X-chromosomal background for relationship inference using X-chromosomal markers.
Statistical methods are introduced and the freely available software
FamLinkX is exemplified.
The open software R is introduced,
and the relevance for X-chromosomal applications and plotting of
Familias pedigrees is demonstrated.
- Lectures will be in Spanish and English (with brief translations).
- The hands on exercises are mostly based on FamLinkX, developed by Daniel Kling.
The participants should bring a laptop with FamLinkX, preferably last version
downloaded .
The open softwares R and
Familias will also be used (to a smaller extent) and should be downloaded.
- Assistance for installation will be provided at the workshop, if needed. Note that
installation is typically only possible if you are administrator on your laptop.
